Introduction
Focusing has been life-changing for me, and has deeply enriched the way I work with clients therapeutically - so I want to share it with others!
What services do I offer?
- Focusing online via Zoom
- Focusing-influenced counselling online via Zoom
- Focusing-influenced counselling outdoors (walk-and-talk)
I'm particularly interested in the potential of Focusing as 'pre-therapy' work for people who find it difficult to know what they're feeling, or who get stuck in their heads with overthinking.
My background in Focusing
I discovered Focusing when I was loaned an Ann Weiser Cornell CD by my psychotherapist, while I was training for my counselling diploma in 2013. Three or four years later, while struggling with living in a new country, I decided to increase my focusing knowledge as I recognised how beneficial it was as a support; I started my BFA Focusing Skills training which I completed in 2019. I began to notice how Focusing was coming into my counselling work - and realised that I wanted it to come in more, so I continued to the Focusing Practitioner training, the journey of which has been hugely enriching for me personally and professionally.
